SURVEY: hand-sewn strawhats and hand-felted blankets

Dear all,

I think about to start doing customised strawhats and felt-blankets and would like to ask if there is any interest in it.




For hand sewn straw-hat I would probably have to take around 300.-
to 400.- USD (that's only a guess jet, I'd first have to do a test one.
It may also vary from the model you choose.)
Those I may offer from periode around 1350 to 1500 (or if you have
a picture I may of course do custom-wishes as well for later periodes)




Hand felted blankets would likely become 400-500 USD, this in nature wool-colours namely white, brown, beige, grey, black.
(I also could make some made out of coulored wool but price would increase, for died wool is terribly expensive!)
Aproximate size of the blankets would be 1,20mx2m and weight chooseable from 2kg - 2,5kg - 3kg - 3,5kg (normal army blankets are around 2-2,5kg).
You may tell me which colours (max. 3) and if you have special wishes for motives you may also tell me, I will felt it in one side of the blanket (backside will be one colour).
But if you have special wishes, you may write me and we can look at it of course.

For I have to felt outside of the house I may only do so in summer, when it's warm. So in winter I will only sell of blankets I did for stock in summer.


So now my question, are you interessted?

As I said, prizes are not fixed jet but I guess they are in that area I wrote above (for sewing strawhats and felting needs lot of time) and this is only a mail to find out if I shall go on with that idea and make it more firm or if I just drop it.

I would be very happy if you write me your ideas and what you think about it!
