Re: Trestle Tables

Hello Al,

The biggest collection of 15th century furniture to look at
is in Dragon 4 and 5. There are a few trestles to be seen,
but as far as I know, none come with a pin, you are right.

Now as you conculde rightly, moving them without the pin
is cumbersome.

Moving them with 3 legs is a nuissance. Also on a
modern lorry. Complete tables without trestles
are equally too big. So we need removeable legs.

The pin seems to be needed, but given the good craftsmanship of Kim,
who made the ones you have seen, I know the pin is not really mandatory.
The legs stick even without the pins. Most of them.

When you look throught he other furniture in the Dragons,
you will see that the concept of pin is not unknown
to 15th century carpenters. So I guess we are not 100%
wrong here when we added the pin.

Cheers,

Christian
