The flooding of the surrounding area turned it into a quagmire and artillery
proved remarkably ineffectual in the face of a well-organised French
resistance.  Rough wine and shellfish added to the raised water table
and poor camp discipline led to the dysentery that killed far more of the
English than the French did.  I doubt whether many archers marched to
Azincourt suffering from the same complaint. I have had it and couldn't walk
a step let alone march for miles.  I am admittedly a wimp.
You are right about the numbers of Henrys and Edwards but the French must
win in any competition with the ludicrous numbers of Kings Louis.
