Re: Harfleur vs. Neuss

Hi Jonathan,

Oops. Sorry for messing that up: Too many Edwards and Henrys
in English history.

Yes, I got the same impression: Henry hoped for an immediate surrender,
but once he actually had to lay siege to the city, it was a fairly quick
win given the size of the city and the obstacles in the way.

Brent: I do not think that the siege of Orléans and Rouen are entirely
comparable due to the different sizes of the cities.

But Gerry is right of course, that it is all a question of interpretation.
However, the interpretation matters to me in this particular case.

There seems to be a list of fairly new publications about the campaign of
1415 mostly by Anne Curry:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=agincourt+anne+curry&x=0&y=0

Has anybody read those? Is there anything interesting about Harfleur?

Regs,

Christian
