Re: New books recommended

Dear Christian and all,
The Kings Servants focuses on the middle ranking men among Henry the
VIII's household. Clerks, attendants and huntsmen during the years
between the Battle of Bosworth (1485) and Flodden (1513). Based on
previously unpublished documents - they are described and
reconstructed with detailed patterns, clear practical instructions,
line drawings and high quality photographs. It has 48 pages, colour
illustrations on nearly every page, presented in a really clear and
intelligent manner. This is not merely a collection of contemporary
illustrations put together with no deep understanding of the subject.
One can sense the enormous research and common sense analysis behind
every statement. It is a model of how a subject should be approached
with an open mind. Get a copy, you won't regret it.
Gerry
