I was typing the entry from "Altlas des châteaux forts en France" when
Guillaume's reply popped up...

Vachéres [Haut-Loire], 1 km SSW de Presailles, arr. le Puy, cant. le
Monastier-sur-Gazeilles.
"Donjon" couronné de mâchicoulis, dominé aux angles par des tourelles
circulaires et au milieu de l'un des côtés par une cage d'escalier carrée.
Devant l'entrée s'élève la chapelle castrale.
Fondé par les sires de Roche en Régnier vers 1280, le château est restauré
par Jean de Bourbon évêque du Puy qui l'avait acheté en 1463 et par Augustin
de Mailhet vers 1760.
