Hi Christian
I've just found these items :

Wooden bucket - XVth - : http://www.yorkarchaeology.co.uk/artefacts/bucket1.htm

Hello everyone,
I have ordered a couple of wooden buckets for the Company
and now Cezary has informed me, that my order is inconsistent
with the sources.
I ordered wooden buckets with ears and a rope handle.
He tells me, he has never seen such a thing. Instead buckets
with ear always come with a wooden handle.
For example:

Vasa wreck, 1627
or http://azor.cisovanet.pl/zrodla/bednarka/galeria/15wiek_01.jpg
(Example nr 1).
I do not need to tell you, that we have buckets with ears and
rope handles - and i am sure nobody has ever spent a thought on the
topic.
Now the question is: Is Cezary really right?
Buckets with ears -> wooden handle
Buckets without ears -> rope handle
What is the proportion between ears and no-ears anyways?
Cheers,
Christian
