Hi again Jörg

***we will discuss that next year in Dijon ;) unless we ghet to meet up before then..will you be in Vienna for the Dreynschlag thing ?

I have. There are minor differences, but not *that* much. I believe the main differences, especially between Talhoffer and the Burgundian sources, come from the 'ritual' differences between Germany and the lands West of the Rhine (Royers and Poyers) : for instance, Talhoffer (especially the Copenhague ms) uses more '"Mal-Engins" ('nasty bits'; like hooks/points sprouting from the axe head), something that was strictly forbidden in France. "Le Jeu" could appear more 'courlty', but IMO just because the author does not openly writes all the nasty things you can do. Although there are less throws in "Le jeu". And OdlM, especially when he writes on the fights of Jacques de Lalain, describes things that are very close to Fiore...
cheers
