Hi,
You're reproduction looks like being taken from
Wilhelm Treue et al. (Ed.): Das Hausbuch der Mendelschen
Zwölfbrüderstiftung zu Nürnberg : deutsche Handwerkerbilder
des 15. und 16. Jahrhunderts, 2 Vol., München 1965.
This is the only complete edition of the Mendel Housebook
i know of. I've stopped by the library yesterday to have
a closer look. Unfortunately, the print in the book is
also black and white.
Maybe someone stumbles over a color reproduction of this
particular image somewhere else, but it is not very likely.
When examined closely, it looks as if the inner side of
the hat would be painted with the same colour as the outer
side. The assumption, that there would not be a lining
or that the seperate lining is of the same color is a bit
short-sighted. The Housebook images are more like drawings
with some color in big strokes. They are no detailed
reproduction of actual items. Do not trust the colors here.
best regards,
Christian
