Hi John,

The "puffs" shouldn't be too big, a layer 25-30mm thick is more than enough, and shouldn't hamper a mail shirt.

It seems that most puffs on franco-burgundian arming doublets as well as on civilian doublets are thicker than that in many contemporary pictures.


Again, if this puff is correctly made, and seat well around the shoulder it won't restrain your movements, even if the stuffing is pretty hard.
