Arming doublet picture

From: "Richard Layton"
Date: Wed, 12 May 2004 22:43:56 +0100

Hello Folks
I recently found a picture of a man wearing an arming doublet at the French court (it's one including Joan of Arc), the doublet is green withblack strips and visible maille gussets pointed onto it. It is from a book in the Royal Library Escorial Palace. Does anyone know of it and have any more information on it. I am trying to get as many references of arming doublets worn as civilian items of clothing as possible.
I can e-mail a scan of the picture if anyone wants to see it.
Diolch yn fawr
Rich.
