A new replica item of note

From: Christian Folini

Good evening,

Most of the time, wandering modern medieval markets is of little use to
the more or less serious reenactor. Sometimes however, you find a
little gem which would go unnoticed otherwise.

This weekend we came across stave-bowls. I am not sure if this is the
correct translation of the German terms "Daubenschale" / "Daubenbecher".

You can find a poor quality picture at
http://folini.tikon.ch/images/linked/stave-bowl.jpeg

The artisan Fred Marschall is already listed on our address list
as a spoon maker. His skills are very impressive. The walls of the
bowl i purchased are 3mm thick only and still they feel reasonably
solid.

If you're interested, you can contact Fred at

Good night,

Christian
