To be honest, my interest in fabrics has just started.
My knowledge is rather rudimentary , so I am afraid that I cannot give

I know that some Primitve Archery supplier in the U.S. used to sell
Irish Shoemakers thread and it was advertised as untreated, unbleached
thread. But your source in Ireland sounds good.
