Jorg et al,
If the translations are not OK could you either suggest an alternative
source or say what is wrong?
Also does anyone know anything more about AEMMA ? I received the following
post from the the other day ...
Dear Richard and Dave,
I would like to introduce our organization to you and "The White Company
(1450-1485)" and to determine if there may be a mutually beneficial
relationship that can be developed with your organization or one that
matches our interest. The Academy of European Medieval Martial Arts or
AEMMA is focused on the resurrection and formalization of European
medieval martial arts, hence the name of the academy. Our research is
based on the writings of Talhoffer and Fiori de'Liberi. We are in the
process of developing and documenting an entire 2-handed sword training
program. We use steel weapons, transition period of the mid-late 14th
century armour (chain mail, some plate armour). We have recently
established a chapter in Calgary whose focus has been the
sword-and-shield for about 3 years. I invite you to
visit our web page at http://www.aemma.org to peruse our site and learn
more about our goals, objectives and our organization.
A secondary objective of AEMMA, is to invite various international
groups and organizations and to build an international federation of
medieval training schools whose purpose will be to contribute to the
development, standardization and formalization of medieval martial
arts. If you feel that you may have an interest in participating in
this project, or if not, and can suggest or recommend another
organization that may be more appropriate for this project, please
forward that info to me. We can begin this process through
correspondence initially, and then determine how we may proceed from
there.
I look forward to your response.
regards,
David Cvet
president
AEMMA
