Willkommen zur Company of Saynt George

Josiane Guyot, 1950 - 2015

We are sorry to announce the death of Company member Josiane Guyot. Josiane passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, after a severe illness. She spent the last years since her retirement in Hauterive, canton de Neuchâtel.

Few will remember when Josiane attended her first Company events around 1997. The same year I started as a young reenactor. Well, Josiane was not very young anymore back then, but her energy, dedication and will to get work done helped her to make friends quickly. Age never stood in her way. Or it was rather her experience that helped her make friends everywhere.

Announcing Haut-Kœnigsbourg 2016

Next April, the Company of Saynte George will to take quarters in the wonderful castle of Haut-Kœnigsbourg, Alsace, France.

It has been seven years since our last event there and in the meantime the castle has been through a lot of restoration work.

We are thrilled to go there once again. Haut-Kœnigsbourg is without doubt one of the most inspiring and iconic castles in Europe and it has created close bonds with the Company ever since the creation of the group. We are looking forward to a glorious event in a magnificent setting.

The event will take place from Friday April 1st to Sunday 3rd.

Vallerois 2015

This year at Pentecost the Companie of St. George hosted a private event as a replacement for the cancelled siege of Castle Hallwyl at Vallerois-le-Bois (blogpost #1 and blogpost #2) near Dijon in France.

Moving from Hallwyl to Vallerois-le-bois

So the plan was to run a big siege event in Hallwyl in May (See blogpost #1 and blogpost #2) to commemorate the year 1415 where the whole region was conquered by Swiss, mostly Bernese, armies.

More about your participation in the siege of Hallwyl castle

It has been a while since we talked about Hallwyl here. In the meantime, things moved slower than anticipated, but now we are ready for the public invitation for our siege event in Hallwyl during Pentecost (May 21 to May 25, 2015).

We have the list of Company members attending, we have the list of forty defenders in the castle and now we are looking to get another 100 participants on the attacking side.
